2026 Programme of Events

Details of the Friends' events including those that we are attending, are listed here. All the money raised benefits the Water Tower and Historic Garden for the conservation and future restoration.

Please Note

All events and openings are subject and are held at the Water Tower unless otherwise stated.

If an event cannot go ahead due to provision of volunteers then money for tickets purchased will be refunded.

First Opening of the Water Tower for the Season

Orangery Display: In Celebration of the Water Tower's Floral Tiles & Tulip Pyramid
Open from 2.30 - 5pm

Friday 17th
The Friends Quiz

Our first event of the season, it's the annual quiz night devised by Amanda Hill.
Enter a team of up to  4 people and test your knowledge?
Doors Open 7.15pm - Quiz starts at 7.30pm
Tickets £5 per person

Sunday 19th
First Opening of the Hermitage

Open from 2.30 - 4.30pm
Hermitage Tours are an additional £2 for an adult ticket

A rare chance to tour Carshalton House. 
Please Note: London Borough of Sutton booking details are not yet available. Further information will be released closer to the event.

Other than our regular Sunday openings, there are no specific events during August.

​London Open House Festival, Heritage Open Days and Wandle Fortnight

In support of the above events the Water Tower will be open with FREE ENTRY from 1pm - 5pm on

Teas Available for purchase

Saturday 26th
The Purcell Player bring a programme inspired by 18th Century Swedish Music.
Curated by Elizabeth, returning to her family roots, 4pm-6pm.
£15 per Adult Ticket with complimentary drink.
£5 for Under 18s

Last Opening of the Season of the Water Tower and Hermitage 2.30pm - 5pm
​Hermitage Tours are an additional £2 for an adult ticket.

Friday 2nd
Time Past Tribute
a film show given by Paul Freeman taken from the archive of John Freeman, dipping into a selection of transport films over the years.
Doors open 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start
£5 per Ticket

Friday 4th
Christmas Soiree
devised by Simone Guyonvarch with readings, music and seasonal light refreshment.
